Monty Ferdowsi: Senior Vice President, Cloud Communications
As part of Masergy’s acquisition of Broadcore in July 2012, Monty Ferdowsi has taken on the role of SVP, Cloud Communications at Masergy and Broadcore. Mr. Ferdowsi will provide strategic vision and set direction for the organizations to enhance their global enterprise cloud communications offerings.
Involved in the telecom industry since 1985, Mr. Ferdowsi helped conceptualize and design various premises-based voice communications systems. In 2004 he was instrumental in designing the first hosted voice communications (IP PBX) infrastructure in Los Angeles which quickly advanced to provide a full array of hosted unified communications solutions with deployments in US, Canada and over 20 International locations.
Mr. Ferdowsi designed and implemented one of the first business class VoIP connections in California in 1996 between his offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He also developed and taught the first VoIP technology course at UCLA, and continues to teach at UCLA on a regular basis. He served as a member of the data communications advisory board at UCLA in 2007.
Dean Manzoori: Vice President, Cloud Communications
Dean brings over 20 years of telecommunications experience in a variety of roles including operational management, strategic planning and business development. Combining his extensive experience in communications technology and passion for innovation, Dean co-founded Broadcore to bring advanced communications capabilities to global businesses.
A results oriented leader, Dean excels in positive change management and building productive teams by tapping their passion, imagination, willingness to take risks, patience, persistence, and desire for meaning to achieve long-term financial success.
In his current role at Broadcore, Dean is responsible for developing and executing corporate strategies to meet or exceed short-term and long-range business objectives.
Dean enjoys outdoor activities including soccer, hiking, and skiing. He lives with his wife and their two sons in Southern California.
Dean holds BSEE from CSU, Long Beach with Great Distinction and MBA from Pepperdine University.
Michael Bacich: Vice President, Cloud Communications - Public Sector
Michael oversees Broadcore’s direct and indirect sales efforts. Charged with building the Broadcore customer base throughout the country, developing an Enterprise ethic through the Sales Department and solidifying its reputation as the leading provider of hosted unified communications solutions, Michael brings a strong consultative customer-centric background into his responsibilities and over 25 years of Telecom C Level Management experience. Michael began his career in telephony as sales manager, general manager, and CEO of Bay Area Teleport, and followed with a successful stint as EVP of Linkatel, a partnership led by Time Warner, and as VP for Brooks Fiber where he oversaw the development of the San Jose, Fresno and Bakersfield markets.
Michael is a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, and enjoys sport fishing, flying, and exploring the state of Texas.
Chris MacFarland: Chief Executive Officer
Chris MacFarland has served as MASERGY's Chief Executive Officer since July 2010 and previously as Chief Operating Officer from August 2008 until July 2010.
Prior to joining MASERGY, Mr. MacFarland served as Chief Technology Officer of PAETEC Holdings through PAETEC's acquisition of McLeodUSA. Mr. MacFarland joined McLeodUSA in early 2006 as Group Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, where he was responsible for leading the network architecture, marketing, technical product development, corporate training, engineering and network planning functions of the company. Prior to McLeodUSA, he served in executive positions for a variety of telecommunications and technology companies, including BroadSoft, Allegiance Telecom, Verio and CompuNet. Mr. MacFarland currently serves on the board of directors for Access Media 3 and the advisory board for Glowpoint.
Robert Bodnar: Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
Robert Bodnar has served as MASERGY's Chief Financial Officer and Secretary since August 2005 and was additionally named Executive Vice President in July 2010. Mr. Bodnar is responsible for formulating capital formation strategy and coordinating M&A efforts in addition to leading the finance, accounting and access management teams at MASERGY.
Prior to MASERGY, Mr. Bodnar served as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Covaro Networks, a developer and manufacturer of networking hardware. Covaro’s operations were sold to ADVA Optical Networking in early 2006. Prior to Covaro, Mr. Bodnar worked in a variety of senior financial and accounting positions at Metera Networks, Spaghetti Warehouse restaurants and KPMG. Mr. Bodnar holds an MBA from Baylor University and a bachelor's in business administration from Texas A&M University.
