The most popular way is to get voicemail messages is by listening over the phone. You can listen from your new phone or from anywhere. This is already set up. Ask your admin for the "Voice Portal Number" to check messages from anywhere. You'll need to know your extension and password.
The other way is to get voicemail is via email with an attachment for forwarding and archive. The second can be done by you or your admin. Voicemail to email setup: http://www.broadcore.com/resources/documentation/user-features/voicemail-to-email.htm

The light blinking can mean only a few different things. If the phone is booting up, it may blink. If the phone is idle and ready, has your extension and current time, then there is a message. If you have more than one line on your telephone, look at the icons next the extensions for the envelope icon. This is the line with the message waiting.
